What I don't get are all of the nonsensical tactics, statistics, and strategies associated with the whole Fantasy Team. Honestly, I can only name a handful of QBs - and let's be honest, its because they have either appeared on some dancing TV show, or the boys at the house have been yammering on about them incessantly. I have NO skills whatsoever when it comes to caring about sacking, conversions, fumbles, and which player on the team does which of those "moves".
But, where my lack of enthusiasm exists for researching how much a tight-end bench presses in off season, my interest in whooping my friends' butts in any form of competition is heightened, to say the least. Enter: ESPN's primer videos (for blood-thirsty, experts at one-up-man-ship, fantasy newbies, like me) on how to successfully compete in Fantasy Football. I will be drinking these videos in all day...in between classes, when I should be studying. Let's be honest though, this is studying. I'm on a mission.
I've even picked an "adorable name" that perfectly fits me - Mmmbop Rush! Sure, I may not completely understand the importance of rushing yards just quite yet, but the "Rush" does make it sound like I might know what I'm talking about- maybe? And, as a Hanson aficionado, I do know that Mmmbop does mean "something that happens really, really fast". So, I'm hoping my team has some seriously fast-accruing rushing yards.
If anyone has some suggestions for players I should be vying for, please do give a girl a hand! Our Draft is occurring tomorrow evening at BW3's. Imagine it now, if you will...a ton of boys and me, sitting at a table filled with tall beers and spicy wings, laptops open, clicking keyboards, and tons of stern faces. I already feel like I'm swimming in the deep in of the pool.
Please keep your fingers crossed!
Back to life.
